Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), the main economic model and financial base for renewable energy in California, could suffer a legal collapse in the coming weeks. The PPA crisis is one of the consequences of the bankruptcy of Pacific Gas & Electric, the largest electricity and gas company in California. In fact, PG&E filed for bankruptcy in January, following requests for compensation for its alleged responsibility for the outbreak of fires in California in 2017/2018.
